I Am Not The Same Person That I Was A Year Ago - 946 Words

I am not the same person that I was a year ago. I am still a college student and a softball player here at ULM. I am still working towards my psychology degree and I still have all of my same core friends. But, in many ways I am a completely different person than I was at this time last year. Last year was actually a pretty rough year for me emotionally due to several personal events that were occurring in my life. In 365 short days I have become more independent, self-confident, and an overall happier person. In the past year I have reconnected with old friends and have grown closer to them. I cannot even remember the person that I was five years ago. Five years ago I was a sophomore in high school and quite oblivious to how life works in the real world. I was completely dependent on my parents and I had no idea that I would end up living in Monroe in five short years. However, I was still a softball player for my high school team. I had not yet met any of my friends that I currently have. Most of my friends were people that I had known since pre-k. Five years ago I was much more confident that I am now, probably due to the fact that I was in better shape five years ago. I was happier due to the blissful state that I lived in; I did not have a care in the world. Ten years ago feels like a whole life time away.
